Fr. Jon Paul Robles † is an ordained priest in the Diocese of St. Anthony (Communion of Evangelical Episcopal Churches) and has been on a pastoral journey since 2009. He is the director of The Greater Youngstown Community Dialogue On Racism, a coordinator for Mahoning Valley Sojourn to The Past, and serves as a co-pastor for the Sacred Commons Church in Youngstown, Ohio. His work is driven by issues of justice, the human condition, and public theology embedded within intricate social and religious frameworks.

Jon Paul holds a Bachelor of Arts in Communications from Youngstown State University and an Associate of Science in Recording Arts from Full Sail University. His academic journey expanded in 2014 when he began studying liturgics and sacred theology with the Institute of St. Anthony. In 2017, he was ordained into the diaconate, followed by ordination into the priesthood in 2019.

Currently, Jon Paul is finishing his graduate studies in Theology and Culture at St. Stephen’s University, where his thesis explores the philosophy of Christian mystic Simone Weil. A newly published scholar, his work on Martin Buber was recently featured in the Kenarchy Journal (Lancaster, UK) marking a contribution to contemporary theological discourse.

Rooted in the diverse tapestry of his heritage, Jon Paul is the grandchild of Mexican-Americans who journeyed from Texas to the Midwest, an Osage crop duster from Oklahoma, and a resilient Steel Magnolia from Kansas. Embracing his identity as a third-culture individual, his work is profoundly shaped by the intersection of their stories, blending cultural nuance with personal depth.

Having navigated health challenges since childhood, Jon Paul has a sensitivity to the often-overlooked experiences of those living with chronic conditions. This personal journey has shaped his perspective, fostering a deep commitment to seeing, understanding, and advocating for individuals in similar circumstances.

Beyond his ministry, Jon Paul channels his creativity into digital cinematography, music production, and audio post-production, collaborating with both local and national clients. A true enthusiast of the arts, he takes joy in crafting LoFi and Ambient music, curating a collection of vintage typewriters, and following the NBA (specifically the Cavs) with passionate interest. Jon Paul cherishes his family life with his wife, the Rev. Diana Robles †, and their two wonderful children, Jon Luke and Maudie, who inspire and enrich his journey every day.
